5 Romantic Ideas for Celebrating Valentine’s Day 2022 at Home
Friday Monday I’m In Love! It may not be the ultimate date night choice, but this year’s Valentine’s Day lands on a Monday. And we are ready to embrace our best version of the unconventional celebration this year.
Because it’s 2022 and what is even “normal” anymore? But not even Omicron can stop us this year! We have lots of creative ideas for how to turn up the romance at the familiar comfort of your own home and still make it a fun and delightful occasion.
This month’s blog brings you our best tips for how to make the most out of your Valentine’s Day celebration at home. Let’s get started…
1. Flowers are a MUST!
The key to successfully celebrating Valentine’s Day at home is transforming your space into an experience for your beloved.
Nothing transforms a space like flowers do, especially roses! You can pre-order a ready-made beautiful bouquet from a nearby florist to display around your home. But don’t wait till the last minute – most places sell out even before Valentine’s Day.
You can also buy a bundle of roses and some foliage from a nearby retailer and create your own beautiful bouquet at home. You can even turn that into a fun activity with your partner to create a masterpiece together.
Here are a few fun and easy tutorials we found which offers multiple options in under 10 minutes:
2. Set the mood!
Once you take care of the florals, you can also add a few other special touches to create a romantic ambiance. You don’t have to go crazy but a few of these simple extras can completely transform the mood of the evening.

3. Enjoy a candlelight dinner!
Having dinner together at home is always a nice treat, but make this one even more special!
Cook your Valentine’s Day dinner together. Choose a fun and simple recipe that would allow you to enjoy quality time with each other between cooking instruction steps.
Don’t forget to plan for dessert too – whether you get your favorite sweet ahead of time or bake something yummy for the special evening.
And whether you are cooking together or ordering a meal out, make your valentine’s day meal a unique experience that is not like your other dinners. Dim the light. Light up the candles. Place those flowers at the center of the table and let the music play in the background. Enjoy and savor the moment of romance.
4. Make new memories together!
Celebrations at home don’t have to be boring! Plan a memorable activity that your partner will enjoy and appreciate. Even better, consider something you can do together. Here is a list of our favorite ideas:
❤️ Play a couples game that will allow you to get to know each other deeper or laugh about the things you know about each other so well. Here is a list of fun date night games.
❤️ Have a creative talent? Sing them a song, write them a poem, make them a scrapbook of all your best moments, edit a video of all your favorite memories together, etc.
❤️ Spa at home? No problem – if you have a tub or a pool! Setup some flameless candles (for safety), get a bath bomb or bubble bath going, and drop some rose petals on top of the foam. Voilà! If there is no tub, consider giving each other a foot rub or a massage with some body oil.
❤️ Other ideas: Dance together to your favorite love songs, watch your favorite rom-com, paint a canvas together, go for a walk around your area if the weather allows it, etc.
5. End with gratitudes or new goals
Dreaming together and expressing appreciation for each other are two of the most important aspects of a strong relationship!
Take a moment to reflect on your evening together and your relationship overall and share gratitudes (start with what you are grateful for most today if you don’t know where to begin).
If you want to go even deeper, prep a glass jar, some notepaper, and pencils, and have each of you write your top 10 “date night ideas” for the future. Fold each individual note and put them in the jar. Mix well! Plan to pull a note from the jar each time you have your next date night and do the fun activity together.
If you have even more time, grab some old magazines, a poster, a glue stick, and a pair of scissors, and create a shared vision board of your dreams for 2022. List all the places you want to visit together, activities you want to do more of, as well as your shared goals for life. Frame and hang the finished poster and look at it daily to make sure you are working towards your dreams together.
We hope that these simple but fun ideas spark some inspiration for you for how to make this Monday Valentine’s Day one to remember and cherish for years to come!
❤️ Happy season of love to all!
